'Fancy like, oh! WALKER HAYES just announced his newest headlining trek - SAME DRUNK TOUR. The country-pop icon is bringing his best hits, fan favorites, and new material to the live stage. You're set to hear iconic tunes from his viral record "Country Stuff the Album", new LP "New Money", and his latest EP "Sober Thoughts". Having dominated the scene with his viral single "Fancy Like" along with a remix with pop icon Kesha, Hayes kicked off a journey as one of the hottest rising country artists to this day. Now, he's got a new EP out and about, sharing tales about sobriety and fatherhood on "Sober Thoughts".
The man shares his experiences with sobriety, "I’ve been sober for 8 years," he shared in press release from RCA. "During that time, I’ve gone through countless ups and downs, and I’m always proud to share songs that celebrate the highs, and make people feel less alone in the lows. We’re all in this together, and that’s what this project, and this tour, are all about."
His most recent album "New Money", also dives deep into personal and vulnerable topics, singing "Nashville made us even broker/ Two jobs, still playing the joker/ Guess I learned to dream the hard way." He sure is an astounding storyteller as his melodies hit all the feels. "And so will my sons and so will my daughters/ 'Cause they get good night kisses from a father like mine/ Who followed his heart/ Instead of the shine and New money, like it's gold, honey/"
Though he popped out in the scene singin' "Fancy Like", the man is actually a simple man, and all he wants in the world is for his family and everyone to be happy. His heart remains pure and unchanged, making music that recognizes life's joys, inspirations, and realizations.
"Honestly, what keeps me motivated is just a love of writing a song. I have a love for my fans. For the whole process of music. I have an opportunity to make something out of nothing," he shared, talking about how writing music is therapeutic, how all the hard times in life were conquered by putting them into song.
